Sosnová Classic attracts Czech and Italian legends. Tickets are disappearing fast.

This year's holiday for lovers of motorsport and exceptional machines will take place in Sosnová near Česká Lípa on the weekend of May 18 and 19. Already a few days after the opening of applications, more than 100 historic racing cars and motorcycles from the Czech Republic and abroad were registered for the racing section, almost a third of them from before 1939. Tickets for the grandstands are almost sold out.

Sosnová Classic 2024 will offer a very rich program. On Sunday, for example, it will be enriched by an exhibition of Italian cars in honor of the world driving legend from the Martini Lancia team, who will not only arrive to personally greet the rally fans, but will also demonstrate his driving skills. Her name remains a secret for now. A large exhibition of Mercedes, off-road or vintage motorcycles is also being prepared. Compared to last year, the area will increase by another 10,000 m², especially for club exhibitions and spectator rest zones.

Lovers of local history will also find something to their liking. The plan is a spectacular celebration of the 50th birthday of the Škoda 200 RS or a gathering of Škoda 1000 MB cars, which already attracted 50 interested parties before the official opening of applications. "Together with representatives of Škoda Auto and other partners, we are preparing many attractive surprises, which we will gradually publish. I believe that we will be able to amaze the fans again this year," says Pavel Dušánek, head of Driving Camp Autodrom Sosnová.

Sosnová – 05/10/2023: After this year's successful first year of the Sosnová Classic event, the date of the second year is already known. The Sosnová Classic 2024 car festival will take place on the weekend of 18 to 19 May 2024. Visitors can once again look forward to dozens of wonderful historic vehicles that will be presented both statically and on the autodrome track. New items in the program are also prepared.

In 2024, historic motorcycles, sidecars and cars will visit the autodrome in Sosnová again. "Thanks to the participants, visitors and our partners, the first year was a success, so we are already looking forward to the second year. I believe that we are really establishing a beautiful new motoring tradition here in one of the cradles of Czech motorsport," says Pavel Dušánek, head of Driving Camp Autodrom Sosnová. The Sosnová Classic 2024 event will take place in the same format as this year's premier event, but participants and visitors can look forward to a number of novelties on the weekend of May 18 and 19.

These will include, for example, an exhibition of off-road cars, an exhibition dedicated to the design and development of cars, and an exhibition of historic motorcycles and a number of other unique machines. "We can also look forward to the participation of a legendary world rally driver with his legendary car," Dušánek entices visitors. Sosnová Classic 2024 will also be a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Škoda 200 RS and will also commemorate fifty years since the Škoda Rally 1974. Visitors can also look forward to an exhibition of Škoda and Tatra competition and racing cars, exhibitions of historic aircraft, a children's zone and a number of stands with goods with a motoring theme. Of course, the participating cars will once again be driving on the autodrome. Overall, for the year 2024, spectators can look forward to an increase in the exhibition area by 10,000 square meters, which will provide more space, especially for club exhibitions, as well as a number of new relaxation zones for spectators.

For those interested in participating in the event with their own historic vehicle, applications will be open from February 1, 2024, the latest registration deadline is April 15, 2024, with the fact that if the given category is full, applications may be closed earlier. Again, the organizers prepared three categories for motorcycles (Moto 1 - sports and racing until 1949, Moto 2 - racing until 1978, Sidecar racing until 1978), cars will start in five categories (Cars 1 - GP until 1945, Cars 2 - sports and racing until 1970, Cars 3 - touring racing until 1979, Cars 4 - touring racing until 1990, Formula until 1990 or at the organizer's discretion). Advance ticket sales for visitors will start on 1 December 2023.

The Sosnová Classic 2023 event was attended by over 8,000 visitors from May 12 to 14 this year, who could watch the machines of 240 participants from six European countries in action. Among other things, the event celebrated 120 years since the first documented motor race in northern Bohemia, which took place in 1903 on the Česká Lípa - Doksy track and which makes Českolipsk one of the cradles of Czech motorsport. The oldest Sosnové Classic 2023 machine was the L & KB motorcycle from 1901, the youngest was the competition special Škoda Fabia RS Rally2.
